Millimetric guitars.
kind of stoked.
1 of my guitars & cheap amps might be sold tonight to fund a new guitar: a Millimetric.
these things are made in Montréal by a really young dude w/ good taste in music.
i love the components and design of these puppies, but i'm having a hard time choosing a potential body shape- he has an offset & a non-offset at the moment (along with 30" baritone & bass versions). super thin bodies, awesome attention-to-detail, and one of the most killer Nanuk hardshell cases i've seen.
a new one will set you back nearly $1300USD ($1700CDN).
borrows heavily from Travis Bean & Obstructures - uses wood/no metal.
here's the MGS3 - the one i'm gravitating toward most - perhaps w/ a walnut neck (instead of maple) & in shell pink ?
i know the builder states he plays in a rather abusive manner and wants his guitars to function like an efficient tool before paying attention to little bells/whistles. the only chief concern i have right now is whether or not these things would be less stable or more fragile b/c of how absolutely thin the bodies are.
i know these are love/hate guitars, i'm just putting this out there for discussion. trying to think things through now that i've been pretty certain on ordering one for 2wks now.

your paranoia must be weapons-grade.

Re: Millimetric guitars.
Thats definately one of the very best original new designs I've seen. Someone went to design school.

I'm a big fan, especially the MGS3 model, and the guy making them couldn't be a nicer dude. Don't worry about the thin body thing, there's nothing wrong with doing it that way, and it seems like Millimetric has all the bugs worked out anyway. Good on you for supporting a small builder.

^ stoked to hear some positive feedback. i'm a huge fan of brutalist, dadaist, minimalist, masculine design for buildings, furniture, and other tangible items.
if Stereordinary approves i'm much less concerned ! maybe one day i'll end up with a Rhoney !

Re: Millimetric guitars.
I'd love to see a 6 string E - E bass with the 30" scale.
This is a signature. If you're reading this you've gone past the end of my post.

I've been following him on Instagram a while. I really dig his design sensibilities! Would love to hear what you think of it when you land one...

Re: Millimetric guitars.
good news - my 2nd-build jazzmaster & yamaha SS amp sold tonight, so at this point i'm 97% funded !
i think Florian takes half up front for a deposit, so i just have to wait until cash gets into my Paypal next week.
shell pink ?
sonic blue ?
light seafoam green ?
black or banana cream (did you guys see that one w/ the walnut neck !?)
i think i'll go with the offset rather than the original body shape, but i adore them both.
any input is greatly appreciated. i'm at kindergarten-level excitement over here.
i don't often find myself envious of others', but that guy's eye for design is impeccable.

Re: Millimetric guitars.
I'm thinking lighter than Fender shellbpink- like the color of a bubblegum bubble right before it pops...
Need to find this... maybe a Pantone mug?
Then again he does a very banana-creme yellow that I've thought of having darkened oh-so-slightly and making it
less subtle.

Re: Millimetric guitars.
^ !!!!!
Dude is being super cool and willing to increase the standard neck size for me-
How can I succinctly tell him I'd like to MIX a squier Mascis neck & a Warmoth boat neck ?
Those are my two all-time faves- his standard is a "flat D" shape.
Fender/DuPont shell pink *might* be a bit much- hard to find THE perfect representation- some look too flesh tone and some look too cotton candy-ish. Novak's slabs:
So for colors on a walnut neck & black hardware I'm thinking
A: lighter than shell pink:
Or
Or maybe this one, one of the big Pantone colors for 2016:
————————
or
B: some variation of banana creme?
He's got a symmetrical body version he did in this cream color which looks like an extremely light-yet-warm yellow...
I just want some warmth so the guitar doesn't look anemic.

Re: Millimetric guitars.
the "U' wins here, but i'm still trying to articulate my preferred neck thickness than just saying "average these 2 together". doesn't seem helpful, does it ?

not really for me,
though I like seeing designs that are a little different.
