edit: Gary, can you tell us a little about the pickups?
The bass pickups, electronics, and bridge are based around the classic vibe 60's p bass. I liked that bass, and thought it was a good starting point for a hi-quality/low price bass.
The guitar has the same neck pickup as the Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar, and the bridge pickup is their version of a JB I believe.

Why the hell Fender would not reissue an Electric XII on the "Vista" Squier series...
/OT mode OFF
They tried with the pawn shop Super-Sonic and it seems it didn't really do that well.

That sounds really good. I have an SSH MIM strat that I have installed Duncan vintage style SSL-1 pickups at the neck and middle and a Duncan JB at the Bridge, and let me tell you it is a combination that works really well. These Mus-guar pickups then seem to be along those lines from what you said, a vintage style single coil in the front and a JB type in the bridge. This suits me perfectly. I wonder if the bridge Squire pickup is 5 wire?. The actual S. Duncan JB splits really well. I can see how I would mod the Mus-guar with a switch for parallel/split/series wiring of the bridge pup. Can't wait to try the guitar and bass. I wonder when both of these will hit the stores on the US West Coast...

Guess that should be Vintage Modified instead of Classic Vibe...

I really like the mus uar design. I'm definitely interested in checking them out. I've always loved burgundy mist.
Thanks for posting Jarman. Quality informative post. Welcome to OSG.
I discovered your band via Lee Ranaldo as well as through discussions on this forum. Great stuff.
Tell Fender to stop fucking around and give us a proper Electric XII Reissue!

Seems like a XII is inevitable at this point. Fender has really attacked their back catalog in the last few years. I think it would be best if they made it a Squier. The XII like the bass VI is a bit of a niche instrument. I would be tempted at Squier prices but much more and I would pass since I wouldn't be able to justify it for the amount of use I would give it.

This is incredible news, and I will definitely be picking up a Comet Bass when they're out! Thanks for posting all of that great information about your guitars.

I might grab one of these you know. Been after an offset with a humbucker and proper floating trem, just hope it can hold my stupid low A tuning. Can't afford a custom jM HH in shell pink so this is pretty appealing.

Hi Jarman,
What type of G&G case does this new offset guitar fit into? Is it an off the shelf model such as the one for the Mustang or Jaguar, or did Fender provide a custom G&G case?
If a custom case, please let us know the G&G model number, or guitar dimensions to put on their order form, as gig bags and 3rd party cases are never a perfect fit.
Thank you very much!
