I've also modded my natural born scratch builds but still, it would be nice to get in a guitar store, grab one of either fender or squier jag/jazz/stang you find appealing or fitting you like a glove and to go home straight away to play the thing until you feel/need to start a new mod. We simply CAN'T do that like right-handed people..
Yeah. I had actually never played a decent tele "lefty side up" until a few years ago--and I've been playing guitars well over 20 years.
Trying to play a righty offset upside-down just seems wrong in every way, so that's not worked for me. I haven't run into a scenario where I could try out a lefty offset yet, either, unfortunately. It's the way it is, more or less.
I've had to purchase/special order at least 2 guitars, simply based on playing the righty verions, upside-down...
Recently I've been pondered grabbing a really cheapo righty and trying to just get 'basics' down playing right handed non upside-down for various reasons...it's kind of humorous to try it, as you know what your hands should be doing, but it's like being stuck in a beginners body, all over again.
