I think this could be a not-too-hard diy project.  I have such a vibrola on a firebird copy I own.  It is simple and effective at producing light-medium vibrato effects.  I can see how it is installed and it seems relatively straightforward: three screws for the actual bridge piece, then the long base is just cosmetic and attaches with another couple of screws at the heel.  I would hope it would come with an installation diagram that would provide you with some precise measurements, just to be safe.

Vibrolas are cool looking but whatever you do, don't plan on breaking a string with one....and I thought Strats were bad.

It doesn't come with an installation diagram OR mounting hardware!!!  At least, it didn't two years ago.  I put one on a Epi Custom SG (the vintage white one) once before they came out with the polar white Custom w/ vibrola and it was pretty easy.  If you trust yourself with a drill you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

so, how many holes would you need to drill? is it just the two at the rear, or are there more?

I think you would be fine with four - the two at the bridge and two of the rear ones - you'll cover it anyway with the cover. Just use as long screws as possible at the rear. I got a vintage Gibson one on my lawsuit ES335 and that's mounted with four screws IIRC.

Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

...so true.  The most frustrated I ever got on stage was when a string broke on my vibrola SG the bar before the only solo we happen to have in our entire set.  It was miserable and made me hate solos even more...
