If you ever end up in San Francisco, drop me a line (though I live in a studio apartment, so there really isn't a guitar factory to tour!)mcjt wrote:i'd love to be invited to your shop sometime and bring some of your favourite beverage, Will!!!!

I just paint on the roof when it isn't too windy. Not ideal, but it works okay.mcjt wrote:you shoot lacquer in a small apartment?

Re: 66 Jazzmaster rescued from parting-out
It's finally summer here in San Francisco, so I had a chance to take refinish-finished pictures on the roof / spray booth (some paint drips on the roof show up in one of the photos!)
It turned out okay, though I guess a mint guard looks a little odd with a big headstock

Also, I picked up a body that was once Inca Silver a long long time ago - ...and on the THIRD try, I finally got it to be pretty close to the original color. There is still original silver in the cavities and between the pickups. This one was assembled piece-by-piece, so it took a while to get together!

They need some emg's
Great looking guitars, the only thing upsetting is that the other two bodies aren't finished and up there.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

"Turned out okay" is a massive understatement!
Although not historically correct, I think that the mint 'guard looks infinitely better than a stark white when, especially as it complements that OTM, so well.

Re: 66 Jazzmaster rescued from parting-out
I wound up putting an off-white old (and battered) original guard on the OTM Jazzmaster - I figured that it might help it find a buyer more easily.Jellyfishin'Musician wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 11:56 pm"Turned out okay" is a massive understatement!

Re: 66 Jazzmaster rescued from parting-out
As one who is nearly as old and battered as that pickguard, I also endorse that move!
