Mines a 2003 model I guess.. I had to think about that. Every year in the fall, Taylor releases a bunch of limited editions, recently these have the L postfix. The 914ceL7 was special in that it had 900 trim, but had like noted Brazilian rosewood instead of Indian roswood, had the 'Cindy' inlay and had no inlay on the bridge. It's got about the best setup I've ever done on an acoustic (bone saddle), second only to my T5.
I'm green with envy!!!! I looked at some of this year's Limited's in Wood & Steel and looked super!

I've never played a 914 wth the Brazillian Rosewood. How does it compare? Is it worth the price differential?
Ummm... I honestly have no idea. I've not played an indian rosewood 914. Brazilian Rosewood isn't usually available but I see that it is. I imagine that it would be worth the coin as it should depreciate less and apprectate sooner. I fully intend for that guitar to be an heirloom.
Need some XII pickup covers....

I don't blame you for that. The brazilian option is the one reason I would like to have a Taylor Presentation Series. They are top of the line and you can get them with Brazilian back & sides for $3,500 more. I really didn't want the Cindy inlay, and there was a Limited that came out this year that had Brazilian back & sides but it just had sort of plain inlay. I'd love to have one. They retail for around $7,000 - $8,000 thousand.

I was pretty set on a 914-CE for a while, but last year they started making them with Sitka Spruce tops instead of the Englemann Spruce. I am disappointed about that. In fact, so much so that I can't see payinng the difference now between a 914 and an 814.

Nothing special - good "working tools" though. A 90's Charvel (tuned DADGAD) and a Tanglewood (bought a couple of years back). The Tanglewood sounds way more expensive than it is - a very nice clear and full tone.  The Charvel neck have a nice electric guitar feel (but then again - it's a shredder-brand ;) )
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Lowdens are easily the best new acoustic guitar on the market today IMO. I've never played a bad one and the craftmanship is top notch. I don't really like the looks much though. :-[

Yeah, Lowden make some phenomenal guitars. I have a custom Avalon (made in what was formerly the Lowden factory by ex-Lowden guys), and it's wonderful.
