Hi
How many in here own one of these?.Can you share a bit of your personal experiences with this guitar?.
I like the specs so much on this guitar i just might go crazy and order one.Are those pickups any different from the regular AVRI 62´s?...Could´nt find proper info on that.
Thx!

I don't own one, but many here do. They are nice looking guitars. The fretboard radius turns me off, as I prefer 7.25". That's just personal preference, though.
I'm pretty sure the pickups are just AVRI.

Yeah i prefer the 7.25 too but i have no problem with the 9.5" radius as such.It might seem a little odd on the JM...But hey why not.It could make a very different and interesting guitar.I am sooo tempted!

I have no chance of trying one out as noone is selling them over here.

I just got my ThinSkin Jag in the mail today. So far, I love it. I don't know how it stacks up against other Jags (in terms of pickup sound and all that) since it's my first Jag.
I've got a MIJ JM that I've had for about 9 years that I love but my ThinSkin feels way more "put together". It has great sustain and plays great (at least to me)...and the shoreline gold color is awesome.
I haven't come to any decision comparing the 7.25 of my JM to the 9.5 of the Jag but both feel fine to me...It really is personal preference.
Anyway, so far so good. I'm waiting to order one of the 59 JMs that are supposed come out this fall...depending on what color options are available.

i like my thinskin - it's awesome - shoreline jazzmaster
the only thing i dont' like is that it's new and prone to 'new guitar' issues, like the bridge being so crisp and clean that it moves/adjusts itself over time from usage.
and the components are so fresh and new htat they are very susseptible to temperature changes; ex. some days i can feel the fret edges on the edge of the fretboard, whereas other days i cannot
otherwise it's great - the pickups are on the trebley side, but i only really noticed this after i got my vintage 66 jazzmaster... ( i guess the 66 pickups could be a little worn out and muddy from time, but they don't need as much roll-off of the treble knob)

I have a Shoreline Jazzmaster as well. Great guitar. Personally, I found the high frets to be a bigger change than the radius.
Bigger in sum than parts.

Brett from Music Machine (where I got my thin skin) told me this:
"In regards to the 59 reissue Jazzmasters, I expect to see them in the 3rd quarter of 08. Right now sunburst and white blonde/ash are confirmed finishes.... there may be a couple of others."
But I know he posts on here so I'm sure he can fill us in if and when he gets more info.

I own a Sonic Blue ThinSkin JM. Absolutely the best JM I've owned. Yeah, the pickups sound like your standard AVRI's.
The '59 ThinSkins are indeed happening, just as quoted above... I was told the 3rd quarter of 08 is when we'd expect to see them. Of course I will keep all of us posted on here as soon as I learn more about exactly when!

Just talked to the owner at Wildwood guitars and he said they're expecting thinskin JMs in LPB, White, Red, and Sonic Blue this summer. Just tried one in Sea Foam Green that they have in and it sounded great. I agree that the frets and bridge feel a little fresh. Sound and color is stunning though!
