For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

I've been trying to get my head around acoustic body sizes lately .. so it's a 00?
I think so, yeah...

Martin sizes run: Dreadnought > 000 > 00 > 0

I think the LG is round the 00 mark...

I wish I could get an old Martin...but the prices are just out of reach....dreadnoughts from the 40s and 50s are pretty untouchable...000 size guitars are not too bad price-wise...but still a lot of cash for a guitar that is not full-size...I'm quite glad I like the Gibson sound more....my J50 rocks...I play it almost everyday for at least an hour :)

I'll need a decent steel-string acoustic at some point .. the only one I have right now is a 12-string which is in bits.

I actually think the dreadnought size is probably too big for me which is why I was looking at 000/00 sizes. Is your J50 roughly dreadnought sized?

expect more bass from the jumbo....I really liked the sound of my old one

I'd like to pick up an old Gibson LG at some point to use for different tunings...it's even smaller than a dreadnought, so it should be nice for on-the-sofa playing...

here's one:

maybe I will find a beat-up 50s one when I go to the States this summer :)
My uncle has one of these! They sound great, and the necks are fantastic. His isn't in the best shape though - the tuner buttons keep breaking off, and it has to be kept tuned in C...

oh, and I like the Ibanez :)

there's about 10 tunes, all in various stags of unfinished-ness...I just have no time to sit and record....ddd takes up all my time at the moment.... :(

I do work on song structures here and there though, so there is some slow progress made here and there :)

J50s are slightly bigger than standard dreadnought sizes (from what I remember)

for a small bodied guitar I'd go either Martin 0018, or Gibson LG2 (pre adjustable bridge, of course) :)

I have a J45 and a Martin HD-28 here and Yannis is correct; the J45 is slightly bigger. It all really depends what you look for in a acoustic guitar and what you'll be playing on it. I play folk mostly, inspired by the likes of bob dylan, bert jansch and davy graham, so i prefer guitars for finger picking on.

Davy was 17 there and had been playing for a little under a year.
