Wow, Jerker!  That looks amazing!  Perfect budget project!  :? :?

I think I need to get some covers for my MIM fretless! Maybe a tort guard, too...

BTW, nice sig!  ;D

She plays beautiful. I like the way the neck feels (but not the way it looks with it's P-bass headstock...). It resonates nice (much more than the Ric 4001 clone I've borrowed).

Thank you guys!

As said - there are small issues. The look of neck is the biggest. The Squire neckplate another. Nothing with the playability though.
It's very good for the price and I can recommend it for bedroom players and home recorders.

Just struck me I haven't plugged it in yet  :-[
- It was past midnight when I had gotten the thread updated, wich I did right after finished the "upgrade".

Nice one! I had a Squier Jazz for years, really loved the tone of that thing...

Looks AWESOME. The only thing it needs is to sit in front of a window for a few days to warm up that neck maple.

Nice job in any event.

Now is it me, or has anyone else had success just screwing those kind of knobs onto split shaft pots?

You have to have those brass sleeve adaptors and when it is japan or any other mm sized pots you need to widen the slot in the shaft slightly so the adaptor sits real tight.

what an improvement! I like it a lot better.. I love the look of those covers but I can only picture torn flesh and buckets of blood if I was trying to play around them. I have a tough enough time with the damn pickup edges and neck butt  ::)

nice job!

Where do you get the adapter sleeves from?.. and did you need them?

Also wondering where I can find the decal..

(I just sent an order out to GPR and ordered the bass locally over the weekend)

adaptor sleeves

Yes I "needed" them - I've used them on my CIJ jag too. You can screw the set screw knobs right onto the split shafts, but I think they'll not be centered and you get a "ellipse" feeling when turning the knob. I'm not sure what happens with the shaft either...

About the decal - I was lucky on the bay...
