The joke wasn’t that bad after all...

I own a Fender XII and would like a 'beater' Squier one, but zero percent chance they do it. Makes too much sense. If they DID do it, then it wouldn't look like the XII. I suspect they'd make a Strat XII (like the MIJ) before a reissue of a real-deal XII.

Nah, they'll go almost all the way and make it a Jazzmaster XII, but will ruin it like they did for years with the baritone by only offering it in the impossible-to-strip, impossible-to-live-with poly Antigua finish.

I think we'll see more B&B aesthetic on various models - I'm still waiting for B&B strat with matching headstock.

I would die happily with a Squier XII and a Marauder version 2 similar to the one Deep Seat Guitars makes. Neither would be cheap but the Bass VI Squier did really well so I think the XII at least is overdue. There are a couple of aftermarket XII pickups available so that's covered.

Your second, distopian list reads like Gibson's projected business plan before the receivers put a stop to the CEO's madness!

It would be cool if they reissued an affinity version of the Vista Musicmaster. It would be pretty cheap and easy for them to do.

Things I'd like them to do....

1) A Fender XII of some sort
2) A true WRHB replacement (Guitar and Bass)
3) A 32" Bass VI with modern pickups
4) A Performer re-release (both Bass and Guitar)
5) A Fender XII..... Seriously!!!!!! (how fucking hard is this?)

What they will release....

1) A Strat with some humbucker config
2) A Tele that has some different pickup (who the hell know what that'll be)
3) Some offset with a shitty humbucker in the bridge.
4) A Jazz or P Bass with shitty active electronics.
5) Some terrible double neck Custom Shop monstrosity that cost 12k.

How about a Squier Maverick? I'd be mad for it

I would like a hardtail Strat with a 70s era headstock. That’s really about it.

A Squier Esquire. Just because it's fun to say.

The only one I know of is the Robert Cray Strat but it has a standard Strat headstock.
