Re: Fender Japan / USA Compatability
As far as I know they will fit without a problem. The MIJ/CIJ Jag has the same neck pocket as a Vintage or AVRI Jaguar.
I now have a CIJ Jazzmaster with a Allparts maple neck. Fits like a glove. So I see no problems.
I swapped necks from various CIJ/MIJ Jaguars in the past, they all look identical to me as far as the pre drilled holes go and the heel width.

Not that it's my business, but a '65 Mustang neck would be CBS if it was after 01-65.

Re: Fender Japan / USA Compatability
OK, how about this then...
'62 Jag neck on a '86/'87 MIJ body.

So: yeah, they fit. I had a bit of a problem putting my '74-ish Musicmaster neck on the Japanese jag body, as the fit was rather on the tight side, so it needed a wee bit of force. The '62 jag neck fit fine though.
Oh, yeah, the inverse is also true. At the moment I have the original Japanese neck of the pictured guitar on a '69 US Jag body. If I find the time to do a bit of repair work to the '69 body, it's going back on the Japanese one though.
