Martyn Bates (of Eyeless in Gaza) - The Look Of Love I played this single the other day and the Queen of the Shadowplays reminded me I'd put it on a wooing mixtape for her when we first met. What can i say I must have had a tiny granule of game back then.

I must admit I'm not a great fan of Joe, but the Midnight Blues cover he performed was GREAT

Came across this Serge Gainsbourg cover yesterday, which I hadn’t heard in decades. It put a smile on my face.

The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I've got that single, it's a classic and chic as chanel. They never really reached those heights on their own songs where they often got tangled up in the foul nets of twitchy skinny tied new wave but that's a great coverTelliot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 8:02 amCame across this Serge Gainsbourg cover yesterday, which I hadn’t heard in decades. Wow, good call. I was just listening to Nitzer Ebb's "As Is" right before I came across your link, so it was the perfect transition .shadowplay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 5:39 amSix Six Seconds - Admiral of the Sea just out and brilliant.

I had the good fortune to catch Grant on a solo tour a few years back in a small university juice bar/ video game lounge. It was very surreal, but he did ask for requests at some point so I shouted out "Admiral", to which he graciously complied and proceeded to send chills down my spine.

Renegade Soundwave - Biting My Nails slaying samplage (KC Sunshine band, Zep, Eddie Floyd), video quality is however shite sounds better here. Vocal as belligerent as the original is cute n saucy
Geneviève Waite - Biting My Nails good song but also worth it for the sleeve

Lali Puna - Together in Electric Dreams just bought their new 12" and was reminded of this beautiful cover that puts the ball clenchingly cheesy original in the shade.
Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder - Together in Electric Dreams sadly the pair of them had shot their bolt by this time. Dear god that guitar intro...how far is possible for two individuals to fall.
