CME Sherwood Green jazzmaster by
Matt Shanks, on Flickr
I just received this on Monday. I just wanted to share it because people seem to really like Sherwood Green. My guitar room reeks of nitrocellulose, it’s awesome. I’m really liking it, seems like a good one. I had one other American original and it was great, this one is better, but that might be because Chicago Music Exchange set it up really well with 11’s. It’s staying in tune well with trem use. Anyway, I’m having fun with it.

Gorgeous guitar. In that pic I could totally see some 1950’s gumshoe coming home late from work, grabbing a drink, & laying out some surreal goodness on that JM, with cigarette in mouth of course. Enjoy the guitar knowing that it’s someone’s dream guitar

Thanks a lot. You’ve actually described my life to a tee.
Oh, other than surreal goodness, surreal maybe.

That’s a beauty. Besides colors, is their any difference between the CME AO JM and the Wildwood ‘65 TS JM?

I think the only difference is that the one has a thinner nitro finish that may wear quicker.

These look so awesome.
I’m jealous that neither of my nitro guitars put off much of an odor. The finishes on them, and more specifically the thin skin, don’t dent like people say the Thin Skins do either, as I’ve banged it into walls and ceilings and other guitars several times and there isn’t so much as a scuff on it.

I’ve never had one that smelled like nitro so much. I could smell it as soon as I opened the box.

Beautiful! Looks like an old Sherwood Green! It's so dark...

I think the picture represents how it looks in person pretty well.
The rosewood is really dark, almost looks like ebony. I had the salesman look through a bunch for me. It weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces, which is a nice weight for a Jazzmaster.

Awesome, we need more guitar runs like these if you ask me! I prefer almost all custom colors to have a matched headstock, so it's great that Wildwood and CME seem to be carrying the torch. If you look back at most Jaguars and Jazzmasters of the 60s, there were a lot of custom colors and they almost all had a matching headstock, so it's weird that so many custom color reissues do not. I only wish this mostly correct vintage reissue was the type of stuff Fender released as a standard model.
