NGD: Pink Glitter "Rocker" Super Strat
I eyed this guitar a month or so ago at a pawn shop and when I went back to get it, it was gone! Well, for some reason, it popped back up again... Probably as a return due to the shop's 30 day return policy. In any case... It needed and still needs a fair bit of work, but it's got all the good pieces right here!
I have already ordered a Tusq nut and string trees, a metal no-hole pickup cover and metal pickup surround, and am going to find a good knob for it (suggestions welcome). The nut, frets, and tuners are all garbage, but everything else is great! The pickup is super hot but is nice and twangy and bright, almost out of phase with itself even at times. I like it! I have the guitar a fret level once I got it home, adjusted the truss rod and set the action. It needs new strings badly and the nut is literally plastic garbage, but likely all of those parts will be at my place later today.
Best of all, it's pink, and glittery! Depending on the lighting, it's basically Salmon Pepto Bismol™.
In any case, yar she blows:

ooh you are fearless
I'd go a white chickenhead knob on that, I reckon.

I think that would LOOK cool, but I like round knobs for volume swells and easy on the fly adjustments. Chicken head knobs always kind of get bumped easily and aren't the easiest for swells... I was thinking something like a top hat style or even the gold insert ones that were found on old Harmony guitars.
No idea really.
I'm excited to get the parts I ordered for it. I think a new nut and string trees will really make this guitar sing. It's quite a great guitar as is. Very light weight, solid basswood (probably, maybe poplar? It's soft), not plywood, and the neck feels like a 90s Danelectro (same factory in China or Korea?).
In any case, I really dig it. I was considering changing out the pickup for a Pickup Wizard custom order Tele in a Humbucker enclosure pickup or maybe even GFS Surf 90 or Gold Foil... Any suggestions? The stock pickup doesn't sound bad, but I'd like to have some fun with it.

Yeah I like the white chickenhead knob idea, awesome. I'd split the coil too and use a push/pull potentiometer.

I vote gold foil or lipstick humbucker and a cupcake knob.

I like the idea of the lipstick humbucker, but I'm not a huge fan of look of them. They're also really hot, aren't they? 12k? Kind of runs contrary to vintage lipsticks, so no clue how they would sound...
Still a fan of the goldfoil, I have to say. I think it would look fitting for the guitar, and not as gaudy the lipsticks, potentially.

God, I know. Had a rosewood Tele-ish thing with one back in the 80s. Terrible.

I like how nobody has said "oh this is cool"...
Whatever. It's pink and glittery and I love it.

Yeah. I love it too. Pink and glittery means awesome.
White speed knob, maybe? Definitely needs a white knob on there.
