Hmm that Wudtone stuff looks cool...been looking for an alternative to spraying for some builds I'm doing.
Any ideas if you could get a solid, flat black on mahogany if it was grain filled. levelled etc?
That's nowhere near the knottiest wood I've seen on a stripped seventies fender student grade btw...I'd go with solid blonde! Cool guitar

Still undecided on what colour to refinish this guitar in.... my daughter thinks LPB would look cool with some sparkle.... hmmm
Anyway I put it back together so I can play it, sounds & plays great.

LPB would be cool, the current LPB Duo Sonics are bitchin' IMO.

Did anything happen with it? I think it looks crazy cool just like that. Just add a clear finish.

Welcome to the beauty of Poplar. Those knots won't "bleach" out. What you'd have to do to hide them is prep the body, then paint the knots with a translucent white to bring them up to the color of the surrounding wood, or even blend in a solid area over them and brush or draw in fake grain lines over the spots, then continue with the finish over the entire body.

I'm not sure if I ever saw this.
Looks great & I bet it feels great too. I still think the Mustang is the perfect shape & sized Fender electric guitar.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.
