Modded Harley Benton Ms-60/bellindastang

Managed to get a secondhand one of these for 60 clams.

Someone had put a bad fender decal on the headstock (not sure why when the headstock is completely different) and the neck was generally pretty bad, looked like it had been underwater. Scored a bullet mustang for 80 then sold the body and benton neck for 40. Since then, I've tinted the bullet mustang neck and sanded it down, put a new decal on it, new bridge, nut, electrics and bridge and scratchplate. Pickups are OK, but on the lookout for decent secondhand ones. Most of this fit perfectly, but the new switches were proper three way ones, unlike the Harley two way, so one required a bit more routing/hand chiseling. Control and scratchplate screws were slightly off, too, so some needed redrilling.

Total build so far is about 200 and it's lovely to play. Surprisingly heavy and solid body too.

Hi!

I'd like to do the same with the Harley Benton MS-60 VW.

I have one question:
Did you have to modify the squier neck or the Harley Benton body to insert the neck in the body?

It looks wonderfull!

Sorry for my shitty English! Greetins from Galicia!

I am very intrigued by this. I've been curious about these Harley Benton's for modding, etc.

Sorry, rarely on forums nowadays. The squier neck fitted perfectly for me, but I've seen a few builds that required slight adjustments with screw holes needing a little work.

That turned out dynamite - especially for 200 bucks.
