Hey! Saw Orville Peck at Gasa Gasa in New Orleans. Definitely has the country Roy Orbison thing going on. Go see the show if you can. Sick jazzy you posted, love the sunburst and goldNelsclinesucks wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:26 amSinglebladepickup wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 4:23 amSaw Orville Peck last weekend. Hi there, we were just talking about subsurface dwellers in houston not too long ago. Where did you see Orville peck? Also, agree with you on his unique sound and being a showman. Reminds me of Roy Orbison, echo &the bunnymen, Chris isaak, Kirin callinin, Timber timbre and just a pastiche of country in general. Great post, sir/ma’am!

Shit, what a cool venue too. Super jealous and what a good first show in awhile! Thanks as well for the compliment, going to post more pics.Singlebladepickup wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:57 amHey! This week I am going to see Altin Gün, a Dutch-Turkish psychedelic band. Next week it will be Khruangbin.

Duster, for the second time, March 1st. in Los Angeles. Still indescribably bizarre to me that I get to witness these men stand absolutely still IN PERSON. When I first came across “Capsule Losing Contact” a decade ago I never would have thought there was any chance of a reunion

I managed to get tickets to The Jesus and Mary Chain at Stereo in Glasgow. 19th March. Only 300 capacity there so it should be amazing.

I still have a ticket for Testament since their show is listed as postponed. Promoter for Tindersticks sent a voucher for a ticket resale site I've never heard of. I guess that money is gone like those lame Ticketmaster vouchers.

Looking forward to some good inauguration day and White House performances.
Looking forward to government that values the arts a little more in general and that can hopefully help inject some much needed relief into local economies to help live music venues weather the storm.
Looking forward to an administration that takes the threat of COVID-19 seriously and works in cooperation with state and local governments to start getting it under control so we can gather again.
And maybe this is too much to hope for, but I hope we never take the incredible experience of attending a live performance for granted again.

For real. I look back and lament how different my priorities were a year ago. There were shows I missed for the stupidest of reasons, like, "ah, I forgot to schedule that day off and it'll be a hassle to juggle my schedule now, I'll just catch them next time."marqueemoon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 10:20 amAnd maybe this is too much to hope for, but I hope we never take the incredible experience of attending a live performance for granted again.
I would gladly reorganize an entire month's schedule now if it meant being able to safely watch a good live show.

I've skipped shows I wanted to see just out of laziness. Drinking at a shitty bar and seeing a band would be great...
