my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I had a hotone wally, i guess he wanted to sleep forever
i loved the speed control on it but overall it was not the greatest pedal
any ideas on a sub $100 decent looper?
i was looking at the ehx 720 / 360 and the ditto for obvious reasons, the rc1 seems good too

I had 2 Ditto x2’s, very solid pedals.
Gotta have good timing with the footswitch. I didn’t, and it was a problem.
I had a Boss RC-2 (or RC-5 maybe - the older one) as my first looper. I liked it, it was quantized, but it died on me - first and only Boss pedal ever to give up the ghost on me.
Never tried EHX’s.

Jamman solo xt is fine for my use. Could have a few changes with how it routes stereo though, like wet/dry, instead it's got drum beat in one channel which don't use and taped the knob.
Other than that it does what it says it does, with sdcard so I can drop things straight into a recording project.
Same as the boss really its a clone.

.
I have a Kokko SOS FLP2 mini looper (Ditto mini clone) I paid $35. Same one is sold under Ammoon, Moskey, and some other brands.
Use the $25-$40 price range and you can probably find one.
If you need more features, then just buy two of them to stack and you're still ahead of the game.

I just got the same one. Works perfect if you only need a basic looper. I just use it for practicing mostly so I have something to play against.jvin248 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:20 am.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
By any means I am good at using loopers - but I do have the EHX 720 and it works well. Before buying it I was thinking of getting the Ditto x2 and I read plenty of comments saying that the switch isn't particularly reliable. The 720 seems pretty sturdy to me. The stereo out works only if there's a stereo input (I had wishful thoughts that it might split the signal, but no).panoramic wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:02 pmmy looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?

Those Ammoons look good. I noticed a couple of bigger two foots witch versions similar to a 720 or x2. Speed and reverse functions, and saving, undoing etc.jvin248 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:20 am.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I would Ditto on the ditto -
MXR make a nice new one but it's about 300 bucks here brand new. maybe cheaper online used has some cool functions.
I have an RC-30 and I hardly use it - because I'm just hopeless with looper stompboxes. it cost me a frickin arm and a leg for what it is - and it is good, but it isn't awesome compared to the brand new gear out there... like the RC-10 for example. (extra $$$)
an RC-1 or RC-3 or ditto are great for single loopy things. I wanted the XLR, (synth) so I had to shell out extra for the RC-30. I do appreciate the multiple loops and stuff, but I'm just not Ed Sheeran (not that I wanted to be).
Since there are new offerings which are more feature-packed and driving prices of obsolete loopers down, you may even find bargains on things like an RC-300 or other used gear online.
I'd try some stuff out first though. I went with a recommendation from a mate who is a music store manager, and I got a great price, but it's probably right up there on my all-time-wasted-money-on-a-pedal purchases.
I'm clearly not gifted enough to have the cool-guy looper skill.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
If you're looking for the best bang for buck on the cheap ones (eg Ammoon, Rowin), the better ones have USB upload/download to Windows (if that's something you would use), and longer max loop length (again you may or may not need it). But separate start/stop buttons are nice .. YMMV (not on the cheapest .. but Rowin LTL02 does have them).

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
I've got a Ditto (original, small) and a Ditto X2, and they are great. I was almost tempted to look into one of the EHX loopers, especially so I could store some original songs I'm messing with, but I've never heard anything but bad things about EHX footswitches, which makes me hesitate...

There's no way they aren't just using the same footswitches that everyone else is using... how many companies even make those things?Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:17 pmI've got a Ditto (original, small) and a Ditto X2, and they are great. This is funny because I read the exact opposite reviews against Dittos - switches were the weakest point. I can tell the EHX switches are the 'silent' switches used nowadays - they seem sturdy to me.

Curious to see what you think of it after you play with it.
On the Dito X2’s, I didn’t find anything bad necessarily about the switches on them, they seemed solid. Maybe the problem they mean with the switches is where “the spot”is to activate them. I didn’t stomp them, and maybe that was part of the problem. I just finally chalked it up to “I suck at it” and moved on to an Infinity.

Re: my looper pedal died, need another decent/cheap one recommendations?
That's what I always wondered. Maybe it was just the non-momentary switches that were an issue, and it could've been from previous years. Unfortunately, that bias/opinion always stuck with me. I'm really interested in looking into the 1440 for the save function. I still might, though I honestly have no issue with my Ditto.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 8:12 amThere's no way they aren't just using the same footswitches that everyone else is using... how many companies even make those things?Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:17 pmI've got a Ditto (original, small) and a Ditto X2, and they are great.
