NGD- Gretsch Streamliner G2655T Jr.

Post by kbrittain789 » Thu May 21, 2020 11:05 am

Finally got ahold of a great deal on a Streamliner G2655T Jr. I’ve been GASing for a Gretsch for a long time and pulled the trigger. The guitar came in today and first impressions: I'm really blown away by the fit, finish, feel, and sound of this guitar. This is my first semi-hollow body/center block guitar, so I was a little freaked out by how light it is... but... it's not a solid body... duh. All in all one very happy girl here!

Grats on the guitar, it looks wonderful. I've only heard positive things about the brand so I'll probably have to pick up one myself one day! What style will you mostly be using it for?

Congratulations! My friend, who's a ridiculously good technical guitarist, has had one of these but without the vibrato for a few years and he's been nothing but happy with it.

For me, I kind of play a mixture, but mainly indie stuff- Vampire Weekend, Wilco, Haim, REM, Belle and Sebastian, that kind of stuff.

I had a DuoJet for a couple years and stupidly sold it to fund another purchase. It was easily the best made guitar I've ever had the good fortune to own. Congrats on the NGD, and I dig your taste in music. On a Venn diagram, we've got a good amount overlap (Wilco is one of my all-time favorite bands, and I absolutely adore Jeff Tweedy). :)
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Dope to hear. Now that you have this, you should post in that semi-hollow / hollow guitars thread of people posting pics of theirs. Anyway, have fun and enjoy the NGD.

All we need is a drummer and we've got a family band! :P

Congrats! Gorgeous guitar!

Damn, that’s nice! Congratulations, glad you love it right out of the box.

I’ve had my eye on a Gretsch for a while, one day I’m going to have to pull the trigger myself. I’m not willing to sell any guitars (but maybe a bass...), so it will still most likely have to wait.

Great guitar! Welcome to the site.

That's a gorgeous colour. I've never played one of the new Streamliner series, but I had an Electromatic series guitar (their most affordable line at the time) and it really played great. One of those guitars I've always kind of regretted letting go. Yours looks like a keeper. Welcome to the forum.
