Damn, I thought I had a problem before seeing this thread lol

I have a

RAT
Tomsline Black Teeth (RAT clone)
Chicago Stompworks Octave Up (...which hasn’t come yet courtesy of the ‘Rona and demolition of USPS)
MXR Blue Box
Fuzz Factory clone
Fulldrive 2 clone, non MOSFET

I used to have a Bug Muff too, but I never liked how they sound. The fuzz on the Attack Decay I own supposedly sounds like a Muff and I’m not a fan of that either.

I’m dangerously close to becoming a full on addict though, I’ve been looking at the RML Electron Fuzz and Clusterfuzz. It's taking all my willpower to not pull the trigger on those

I have my Fuzz War and I genuinely feel that is the only dirt pedal I need. :)

I don't really do anything other than exploding fuzz or simple clean/overdriven sounds (not mentioning layers of reverb and/or delay ;) ). Sometimes I switch the Fuzz War to some other dirt/fuzz pedals (I have a Tube Screamer and Death By Audio's Soundwave Breakdown that I use), but still, I only need the one.

I got yet another fuzz today. I wonder when it qualifies as a problem

When the collective cost of your fuzz boxes exceeds the cost of the rest of your rig. ;)

I'll do some math, but if that's the case I'm skirting dangerously close to the danger zone

I’m offended because this resembles me.

I've been wanting to try out some other fuzzes. I regret selling my Analogman BC-109 (with clock tribute graphics!), and I might get another. That would definitely scratch the Fuzz Face itch. I've had a fuzz sound in my head for years, but I can't describe it, so I want to just keep looking around to see if I can find it. I loved the fuzziness of the gain maxed on my old Keeley-modded Blues Driver. I didn't like how generic and bland my Magnetic Effects White Atom sounded (eventually, I did like it in the beginning). I found a demo of the new Danelectro 3699 played by RJ Ronquillo (his playing = :-*), and it sounds fantastic. I'm REALLY tempted to pick one up...

I need 4 level of dirt :
- Clean or cleanish
- Overdrive
- Fuzz
- Solo madness

My amp have two channel : one set clean, the other one set for solo. So all I need is a overdrive (tried many, always come back to the good old SD1) and a fuzz (face).

I also have a Blue Box, but it's just to be weird.

RJ Ronquillo (his playing = :-*)
Check his Lonesome Joseph album, that guy is not just a demo artist :)

On the topic, I guess I'm a fuzz guy... Most of the time I like them, and I'm constantly interested in finding new flavours.

My favourite is the Spaceman Sputnik. I have a III, and a 2 Laika's I built, which are clones of the Sputnik II. I like to have the real deal, but honestly the Laika is just as good, and the II circuit is arguably better than the III, having a more tweakable filter section.

On the other hand, I'm picky with overdrives and I constantly struggle to find my holy grail. Somehow, there's always something lacking...

Favourites have been MI super Blues Pro, Catalinbread Formula 5, Spaceman Polaris and DeadendFx Anticarus (clone of the Spaceman Aphelion).

But most of the time, I use boosts, and hope I can get loud enough to have a good overdriven sound.

And I've never had a distortion pedal. I should, probably, but that's kind of unknown territory for me.

I didn't know RJ put out original music or at least his own albums! I know he does demos, and that he tours with big names (mostly older pop stars that I wouldn't listen to), but he's easily one of my top 3 favorite guitarists ever. The guy just has SUCH soul to his playing.

I think the album is mostly original songs, except for a really nice cover of Down under. Love the one man blues band concept!
