That is the widest section of black, I have ever seen on a Fender.

I know, right? Honestly, I liked it better when it had its original ECJM-style brown body.BoringPostcards wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 6:06 pmThat is the widest section of black, I have ever seen on a Fender.

I think we need a technical "burst break down" - what are the definitive categories??Larry Mal wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 6:19 pmYou may be right- you could also say that the G&L Legacy there is more of a "clown burst", also. Maybe I should have called this just about bursts.somanytoys wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 4:14 pm
Is that 335 an actual sunburst? It almost looks like a cross between a tobacco burst and a lemon burst in those pics - it seems a bit lighter than the others.

That’s the second one in this thread! I’m starting to get a hankering for the new Gibson lg-2 Original model. How do you like your LG-2 and what year is it?

Mine's a 1946, same year as my old man! I really love everything about it.. Truly a lovely little guitar, strung up with silk and steel at the moment.

My curiosity is definitely piqued! My father was born in 46 too. Maybe the guitar gods are trying to send me a message? They’re saying, “Buy a Gibson LG-2 Original!”

Re: Anybody like sunburst? I seem to.
Most of my electrics are a burst finish of some sort and I am not particularly a fan but I got them for a good price and the cost of refinishing them is a prohibitive expense right now... I am also worried that if they would be refinished that they wouldn’t play the same. I have modded and upgraded most of them, as I care about how they sound more thank I care about how they look. That said I would prefer a solid color. I have taken them to luthiers, swapped pickups, toiled away comparing pickup height and just about every aspect of their set up and this was such a time intensive and expensive process I’d hate to be back at square one. My understanding is burst finishes take longer to do. I was watching videos of Gibson guitars getting sprayed and the bursts took a lot more time.

Beats me! I love it also.
