New color for Johnny Marr Jaguar?

Post by galaxy08 » Sun Aug 23, 2020 9:00 am

Has anyone heard any scuttle about a new color for the Johnny Marr Jaguar? It seems that Fender might be due for a new limited edition finish.

Johnny Marr Jag is a solid product, but why all the limited colour runs?
Are they really selling that well?
I would rather see another artist model. Plenty of people using Jags these days. Surely one of them is well known enough to get a model.
Marr must be loving it. He is getting a lot of recognition from the younger crowd. He definitely deserves it.

True. I hadn’t really explored Marr or the Smiths much until his signature Jag came out.

Maybe a John Frusciante run of a couple of his jags? 😄

Really, I just want the Sherwood Green to come back for another run. Dare to dream, I suppose...

Sherwood Green, yes! I'd love if they brought back LPB, too.

The black was mean and ultra badass looking. THAT would be cool to see again!

You'd think he would have gotten at least a Strat sig by now. Maybe he avoids that sort of thing.

I remember reading somewhere that the Marr Jaguar was Fenders best selling Jaguar - Which doesn't surprise me, as it's a fantastic guitar.

As much as I'd like to get a sherwood green Marr Jaguar, I doubt Fender will do another run since they're supposed to be limited editions.

Plenty of other cool colors for Fender to do.

Fiesta red
Shoreline gold
Inca silver
Thaitian coral

If they decided to replicate his custom Champagne Sparkle Jag, I’d be all over that one. But it seems in the past, new colours coincided with new album releases or big movie soundtracks he contributed to. His social media feeds don’t give any hints to anything (though he did play guitar for the new Bond movie soundtrack).

According to his Instagram he's currently recording a new album.

I'd love a Sherwood Green anything. It's a criminally underused colour.

I've come close to buying a sherwood green Fender Custom Shop Jaguar a couple of times, but the neck was too skinny on both occasions.
