The original 11 hole guard was probably broken at the output jack which happened fairly common with them, and why Fender later went to 13 screws .
At whatever point the pickguard was replaced , another 11 hole guard must have been too hard to find , so the 13 guard with wood blocks was the fix.

Yeah, thats how the screws fit my body. But this must have been made by a private person then. Does this affect the overall value of the instrument?

A little but probably not a huge amount. I'd be interested to know if the aluminium shielding is stock.
There are folk here who have much better knowledge & experience of the buying & selling market than me. Someone should be able to help out more if you start another thread with a specific question.

The pot code I can see dates to Aug '59. Same pot date as on mine which is also dated 8/59 on the markings under the pickup.Fender96 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 2:38 amhttps://imgur.com/tFnIF8K

Here you can see it. I just want to know if the pick guard is original, since the electronics looks completely original.
The mark on the neck says 2-59. Either the neck was made earlier than the rest of the guitar or.. ? Are there date markings under the pickup shielding?

To my eyes and what I have been told the neck says 7-59, but it is hard to see. I think 7-59 fits the pot dates quite well
