Wow! Just wow! A true beauty!
I always thought Charcoal Frost Metallic mist go with white or mint guards - but it really does look amazing with that Tort!
Agreed 100% !!
I'm usually a custom color + mint guard + matching headstock guy, but this is an exception. This one and a project I saw here before of a refinished CFM Jazzmaster with spitfire and non-matching headstock

The fact that the neck is showing the Charcoal Frost stamp is a good indicator it's a legit refresh/ restore from the Fender factory. Back in the day, there was very little consistency, so it's not completely unusual to see a neck stamp and no body markings, it's also possible they just tossed the original body and replaced it with a new one in CFM. This is common and I've seen this first hand with a 52 Telecaster that went to the factory for a refin in 67 and returned with a smuggler's body. Ouch!! The guy who had the guitar was the son of the original owner. He never knew what had happened until we took the guard off to look at the body, because it was clear it was wrong for a 52. I digress, but I vote for legit. Oh, and looks AMAZING.

It looks legit to me. The color. The stamping. The neck paint mark. I believe the story. It’s perfect.

Thanks, it really is a great looking guitar, dings and all.
I’m leaning that way as well (believing the story).
I’ll have to find an image hosting site to add more pics, used photobucket back in the day but my account went away when they started to charge...

I love Charcoal Frost. I have a Danocaster P bass in matching headstock that looks really close to yours.... Of course mine is not even in the same realm of coolness as your Jaguar. Thanks for the additional pics. What a great instrument and color.

This is one of those guitars that I keep coming back to look at...such a beauty!
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

I feel fortunate to have found it. And because you’ve come all that way to have another look at it I’ll add a couple more pics Of the good stuff for you (in my opinion).
BTW, anyone know what that non original bridge pickup is? Just curious, it SHALL be replaced with original:)
