Interesting changes and (IMHO) another attractive new color........

Cool. The first round were ok but nobody liked them that much (myself included). These you'll be able to mod back to regular specs if you want with the upper cavity rout.

It really seems like the Jazzmaster and offsets more broadly might be more popular than strats and teles are nowadays.

Everything else about this reality is backwards, so that makes sense.
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

It's just Teles and Strats but you can see some of the other colors on this Gearnews story:

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Holy hell, if they release an offset in the new Dark Night colour I don't know if I could resist.

I'm picturing a black guard with white pickups on it.

I’ll be buying one the day they come out. This is absolutely what I’d hoped for.

I wonder what exactly is different about the vibrato?

I wonder if the arm is just bent upward so that you don't bottom out as quickly due to the arm hitting the pickguard. Just a guess, but I can't really think of anything else it could be given that the trem itself looks identical.

"The new Panorama™ Tremolo system with pop-in tremolo arm dramatically increases the range of vibrato available, allowing for deep, Strat-style dives, in addition to classic Jazzmaster warble."

Yeah difficult to see exactly how they've done that. The plate length could be tweaked a little to give it greater range, as could the position of the collet on the plate. But it's hard to see anything like that in the pics (assuming they're the real thing). One could also tweak the spring/screw lengths too I guess.

The first round sold incredibly well, so I don’t think you’re correct in saying that nobody liked them much. And as much as I love Jazzmasters, there’s no way they’re more popular than strats or teles...despite that they’re now more popular than ever.

The first generation Am Pro JM was "modern lite" (less features than vintage rather than more/different) compared to the innovative Am Pro jag (with 4-way for series, plus OOP). So it might have been expected that they would have made the Am Pro II JM closer to the original Am Pro jag this time round. Maybe something like the CME exclusive Player JM that's been around for a year or so. But they've gone in a somewhat different direction. Not as "far out" as the Ultra JM though.

Wowee... 4 colours on my radar: dark night, mercury, miami blue & mystic surf green...

I wonder what will be the Jaguar offering, will it be the same as the existing one? There was talk of it being discontinued, but I doubt that now that it is available on the Mod Shop.
