Class 5 Marshall

Post by bdf83 » Fri Oct 02, 2020 12:26 am

Anyone got one? Got the chance to get a secondhand one, haven't had chance to play one yet so curious if anyone on here has one as the endless blues noodling on youtube isn't telling me much.

I had one. Extremely nice sounding amp, like a JTM, but WAY too loud to be used at home to get to the "nice crunch"-sound. Even with the 0.5W switch. The stock speaker is acceptable, but it benefits from a bigger speaker (or using an external speaker cabinet).

I used it for R&B.

I was searching for one for a while. I wanted that classic Marshall sound in a low wattage combo. Unfortunately, I never got to play one as they were discontinued by the time in was interested, and I could never find a used one available locally to try. That journey brought me to the recently released (at the time) Origin 20, which has 3 levels of attenuation. I love my Origin 20 combo. Might be worth a try if a small, low wattage Marshall combo is what you're after.

Thanks for the replies!

I’ll probably go for it, it’s a mate selling it as he’s just got himself an AC30 so is happy to let it go for a really good price.

Plus I can always flip it if its not for me!
