Jack White put away some of his weirdo guitars to play an EVH guitar recently. Who actually makes the EVH guitar now? Seems like Eddie was able to take his design to different manufacturers. It's not my cup of tea, but his Peavy 5150 amp seems to be highly regarded too. I saw a video a while back with one of the Deafheaven guys extolling the version Peavey was making under a slightly different name, presumably because Eddie had moved on.
i saw him play his Wolfgang when i saw him live a few years ago. the EVH guitar is made by Fender. same goes for his EVH 5150 series amp.
I have a 5150 amp and i love it.

I definitely admire EVH's musicianship, even if I don't like many Van Halen songs, but surely the guy has done some sleezy terrible things? I mean, I haven't gone digging for dirt, but the guy was a hardcore alcoholic and Van Halen was like 80's MTV Spring Break personified. I would normally give people benefit of the doubt for not committing statutory rape or something, but...Van Halen. Maybe too soon, but it seems like if he were more OSG-popular there would be an early effort to cancel the tribute parade. No specific allegations from me, I admit, but I'm confident that EVH probably treated people like garbage for years. He also wrote "Higher"!

Yeah, I actually hate the Blue Angels. But unlike EVH, they deserve to be hated on.

I mean, if you don't know what the guy did that was so horrible, maybe just give him the benefit of the doubt, you know?
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

This is petty and disrespectful. Feels quite out of place in this forum.

Indeed. The fact that he pointed a gun at Fred Durst *almost* makes up for the fact that he thought it would be cool to jam with Limp Bizkit to begin with.

Gatekeep much? I don't owe him anything and I'm sure if he were here he would not care whether or not I respect him.

Nah, I hate the blue angels for the same reason everyone else who's ever lived in Seattle does: They spend a week before labor day doing low altitude fly bys of the city and totally fuck everything up for everyone. You can only shake your fist and yell "MAVERICK" so many times before the joke isn't funny anymore. It's just a fucking week of shitty jet noise every 5 minutes combined with people stopping traffic to watch. Everyone hopes they crash.
