Triple Bucker Costello Themed Jazzmaster Done Pg. 3
In my Costello thread, Shadoweclipse13 linked a Costello video where he played a triple bucker Jaguar. I prefer Jazzies so that got me kind of wanting to make a Costello style triple bucker. It is only that style in color. I am making this one hard tail string through. I have three Duncan Distortions. I am going to wire the middle to the upper pots and use 1meg pots for each. Body came today and I got to work shielding the guard, mounting the electronics, and staining the body. I need humbucker screws so those will wait. I am going to refinish a Squier Affinity Jazzmaster neck that I had used before. Here are the starter pics.

I started with ebony stain but it was kind of light.

So I went over that with walnut special and it was way better.

LOL I guess. Feels like a shame to paint a pretty price of wood black or white. I wanna show that shit off.

That would be awesome!
I took the finish off the Jazzy neck.

I love when I get on OSG and see a thread saying it's my fault Sean/Sleazy is the one who posted that video, though I'm sure that some of weirder schematics have caused me to be at fault for a project once or twice
Sweet looking one Chris!!!

Re: Blame Sean!! (Triple Bucker Costello Themed Jazzmaster)
Not that it changes in any way how neat of a guitar this will be, but the Jaguar in the video that spawned this most definitely has three Jaguar single coils, no buckers.

Re: Blame Sean!! (Triple Bucker Costello Themed Jazzmaster)
Ah. It was pixely and I thought maybe it was three strat size mini's. Makes more sense though since he seems to dig single coils.

You're back in action, Chris!!
I'm glad you're providing us some fine quantity & quality content.
Netflix should give you a dedicated TV series on your projects. I'm sure you'd get high rates and season renewals
Beautiful work on the Costello Jazzy and, btw: I LOVE the Silverburst!! It's bloody gorgeous!
Keep'em coming!

Thanks!! I love the silverburst also. It is probably my favorite Jazzy. It is hard for me to just pick one guitar though. I like them all for different reasons and moods.Amon 7.L wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 9:18 amYou're back in action, Chris!!

I am glad people enjoy the stuff I do to push off anxiety. LOL It helps me to have things to concentrate on and problem solve. I really enjoy the process. Ideally I could do it for work, but I am a teacher by trade.
J'Accuse!!!

Clear going on. It is no way yellow like the pictures look. It is dark brown. LOL

Re: Blame Sean!! (Triple Bucker Costello Themed Jazzmaster)
Custom wiring is pretty much done. The mini toggle turns the middle pickup on or off. Otherwise it is wired like a normal Jazzmaster other than the upper pots are connected to the middle pot. That way I have the option of middle alone or mixing it in with the other two pickups. Once my humbucker screws come in, I can get those connected and wired.
