Listen to my song!
I am a big-time amateur but decided to follow Todd's footsteps (except he is 3000 miles ahead) and record a song or two. Well, I recorded one before realizing it's a ton of work. It sounds alright on headphones but I gave up on it sounding good in mono. I also made a video to document my Covid beard. There is zero guitar in the song, but I play a Mustang bass in the video . Take a listen!

I love it, Mosta. Great job! Is this a new mix? It sounds fantastic.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Love it!
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Thank you both so much!
Yes I changed a bunch of things based on feedback you gave me and added a proper outro (and I started to worry that the outro is becoming more fun than the actual song). I learned so many things from the messages we exchanged and I am truly grateful to get advice from someone whose music I like so much!

The subject of Soviet Space Dogs is depressing.
You made it fun. What a fun song.
As for the video I think you move like Michael Stipe.
Is everything sequenced except the bass?

I am glad you liked the song! But I cannot believe your Michael Stipe comment. I don't dance, so in preparation for this, I watched the Losing My Religion video 2 minutes before shooting (while my daughter, the videographer, gave me snarky looks). That you picked up on this, given that I really don't know what I am doing, is nuts.JM Convert wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 6:29 pmThe subject of Soviet Space Dogs is depressing.

Everything (including the bass) is stock Logic instruments played on an ipad using Logic Remote.

Mosky, this is just fantastic!
The song, the recording, and the video are all so well done. BRAVO!

Nice little song!
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Well done, this came out even better than it was before! The outro is great, and I'm glad I could be helpful in any way.mediocreplayer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:40 pmThank you both so much!

The Michael Stipe comment was only an observation and not a criticism.
I thought you looked cool in the video. I thought you were just you being you.

Re: Listen to my song!
Listened again tonight and I love it.
I'm not a synth song guy but I really like what you did. I like the video but I don't think the song needs it. It stands on it's own.
Do you have a link to your catalog? I'm interested in hearing more.
Not my genre but I get it. Keep doing what you are doing.

Thank you again! You really are too kind. The video was a way for me to do something fun with my daughter while we are locked down, but you don't have to watch it every time you want to hear the song. You can listen to it on the usual streaming platforms. I am also happy to just email you a copy if you like.JM Convert wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:06 pmListened again tonight and I love it.

By listening to this song you have instantly familiarized yourself with my entire catalog I have written a ton of songs over the years and have unfinished sessions all over my hard drive. At some point I'll sit down and finish more, but this will not be soon.
Following up on your last comment: what is your genre? I honestly don't know if this song is my genre either -- I am basically trying to do power pop without using guitars.

Re: Listen to my song!
Love it. Really great work with the song and video. For me it has a Kraftwerk vibe, maybe also because of some of the images.
