Re: The Synth Thread...
anyone got book recommendations? looking for anything that dives into the basics of synthesis, “how it works/how it’s made” sort of things, history, anything of that sort.

Yeh, if it as good as an original P5 it'll be epic with the extra polyphony...having only 5 notes that always the downside of the original for me.

Just bought this, it's more 'coffee table' than 'useful' though but it's also looking a nice Christmas present candidate too but will need to see when it arrives.postchrist wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:15 pmanyone got book recommendations? looking for anything that dives into the basics of synthesis, “how it works/how it’s made” sort of things, history, anything of that sort.

Yeh..I haven’t bought new synth for years. They are making more so should be easy to get one. I didn’t want to take the risk though, not after the Korg 2600 debacle.

Re: The Synth Thread...
Sorry if you’ve already told this story and I missed it, but whatever happened with that, did you not get one?
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: The Synth Thread...
wasn’t it kind of assumed they would make lots of the reissues, and then they just made a few hundred and stopped? or something...

the Behringer 2600 is a bit of a dream synth but realistically i don't know how much use i'd get out of it

Re: The Synth Thread...
I got an order in early, but then covid hit and production slowed, with delay after delay...but all the way they promised I was safe as I ordered early enough. I spoke a few times to Korg UK who assured I was on the list as everyone around were having their orders cancelled. My delivery date was put back 5 times..then about 2 days before it was finally about to come they cancelled!
The last person I spoke to said even though production has stopped that they hadn't actually discontinued it, so there is a small chance they might make more....the demand was absolutely insane for them though!
