Well, thought I'd post these shots of my summer JM project. The body is made by Guitar Mill and I bought it finished from Ebay. The neck is a vintage-style Warmoth neck, and finished in lacquer. I put Fender PV65 pickups in it which don't sound bad..Wish I could get a new set of Pickup Wizards..ohwell.. The pickguard is from a chinese seller on Ebay, and looks pretty good for $17! Don't care for the reclicing on the body, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I really need to stop building them, and start playing them!

This is beautiful. I was eyeing that body recently, I do believe...the see-through blonde, etc. And I wanted to do exactly what you did...the gold pickguard, etc. Such a snazzy look.

Looks really nice! And completely accidentally kind of validates a few cosmetic ideas I had about a PJ-style bass I own, so thanks for that
I was under the impression those more affordable chinese metallic pickguards wouldn't fit properly, for whatever reason... Or maybe it's just the screw holes with some particular version.

I keep looking at that first photo above, again and again. That might be my all-time favorite look, and I didn't even know it. There isn't one thing I'd change (and I never say that).

Thanks so much for the kind words! The pickguard did require some dremel work around the thimble holes to fit, and some extra washers to get the roller knobs aligned. I think the color isn't bad--not as yellow as some of the other copies that I've seen.

Dammit. This is the exact build I have been gassing over lately & I thought I'd gotten it out of my system but now this...I guess I'm back to planning.
