If someone who has one of these guitars knows how to play EVH Eruption ... do it on this APII JM trem for a video.
BRB gotta go and build a red-black-white-striped JM.
Lol.

I did a quick Google image search and while there are no FrankenJazzers out there .. the Wolfgang model is actually Offset (the headstock was always a distraction for me).

I used to know how to play parts of eruption, but honestly, yes the panorama has more range than a traditional offset trem, but its not a floyde rose in range. A floyde will let your strings hang down to your knees if you press it against the body.

This is great!

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Yep. Unfortunately his posts here, in this very thread, were zapped due to the crash a few days ago. Much of this thread, including the video you linked to, was lost.

So far, Ryan is the only YouTuber who has delved into this new tremolo to such a degree.

PS - I know how to play that "Eruption" part that goes "bwwwwaasannnnnnnggggg...deedly-deedly-deedly, kawwrrrranngggg...". You know the part I'm talking about? And then that whole "blip pity-bleedity-blooop-blooop-bloooooooopity" part that follows. Good stuff!

In all seriousness, if someone had told me a few years ago that we'd soon be living in a world without Prince, Tom Petty and Eddie Van Halen, I would've laughed them out of the room. :'(

So, will it be availlable without a surrounding guitar? I'm kind of wanting to replace the trem of my Squier VI and this would be well worth the crazy money (in relation to the value of the bass) for an original Fender part.

As far as I'm aware, every JM/jag vibrato that has gone onto a Fender-branded offset has been made available as a replacement part. Off the top of my head, the MIJ assembly with the narrow string spacing, threaded collet model from the MIMs, and AVRI/AV65/AO vibrato are all sold as parts, so I'd expect this one to be at some point as well.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

So I'm an idiot... this tremolo unit will retrofit, correct? It's not a different mounting screw pattern nor depth, is it?

I hope that is correct, because I can totally see myself buying a couple of these.

No, looks to be the same. The screw spacing that is different is on the top plate, where the pivot plate is anchored.

I was actually going to keep an eye on Stratosphere for the tremolos and possibly the necks. I mean, if they're gouging less on Reverb though...
