Hi Richie, welcome to the house of fun!

At least for Jazzmasters, Fender pumped out quite a lot of dots and binding 1966 necks with code 13, at least until March (I think until July or August).

Nothing's ever quite that simple with old Fenders, unfortunately.

in the data I have collected (as well as in a newly aquired book of serial nos and  guitars) the easrliest neck date I can find for a jag/jm with binding and blocks is June 1966.
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Thanks Sook, looks like it's one for the books! I will take photos as soon as I get it.

It now seems I have one of the first and one of the last blocks and binding necks made pre 83.

Napolean Dynamite voice:  'LUCKY!'

That is awfully early for a B&B... cool!

Scott,

yeah .. please put up some pics...  I am very intrigued ...I mean if you had have said april or even may 66 for B&B, then yeah OK... but Feb 66 is way out of the ball park... maybe this was even an early prototype/pre-release (to use auto manufacturing terms) neck.

I will get my serial no. verse year  graphs up here soon....

I have a 66 B+B Jazzmaster neck with 13FEB66B. I guess the early strat codes are the first ones?
