Thunderbird Pickup
I kinda want to put one of these in my Jazzmaster. They look like they might be similarly sized - anyone know how much modification is necessary to fit one in a standard JM?

Re: Thunderbird Pickup
IIRC they fit in the standard JM footprint, but you need a new pickguard and new mounting holes.

Re: Thunderbird Pickup
I saw after I posted this that Curtis Novak apparently makes an adapter base plate so that they can fit into a standard JM spot. Kinda cool! I may stick one in the bridge on one of my Jazzmasters at some point....

Re: Thunderbird Pickup
No need for a new pickguard, they fit right in. However, the "ears" of the JM pickup route will show... But it you get a Thunderbird mounting ring (easy to find, the perfectly standard TB ring), it will hide everything, just screw the ring onto the guard.
