Well, the sherwood green refin job on the Squier VM Jaguar is mostly done for now. I'll keep buffing/polishing the body with my rudimentary skills and tools but I couldn't wait to put it back together to play it. It looks alright in the right (i.e., very dimly lit) lighting.
I think I probably hit every newbie bump in the road - finish burn-through, orange peel, hazing/cloudy, drip, etc.
I've got two other refin projects (Teles) and the Jaguar was the most promising - you don't even want to see my Lake Placid Blue Tele refin.
Of the following photos, I think the horizontal body shot is the most telling. Luckily, I have really low quality standards. I'm hoping with normal play wear, the mass amounts of refin imperfections will just become part of its character.
A bonus is if I do wear parts of the body down to the poly surf green, I'm thinking it could be really cool looking.
Overall, it's been a cool experience and I hope I get better with time.
Here with Basil (front) and Emma (back) snoozing...
Erm, well, I've nowhere to go but up in regards to improving...
Bit of burn-through on the tummy tuck curve...
Lighting makes the body and headstock not match, but they really do.

Great work! Man, that's probably my favourite colour for a jag. Looks great from here.

the lighting in the first headstock shot looked kinda like that awesome blueish grey color the bullet mustangs came in.
my buddy had a sherwood jag and it was gorgeous. great color.
