Vintera Jazzmaster - Too Much Wire

Post by Joey Ace » Sun Nov 22, 2020 8:37 am

I'm loving the JM I purchased new in April 2020. I expected some imperfections, since it was priced much lower than the MIA JMs.

The first thing I noticed when inspecting the innards was too much wire. I suspected this would contribute to the 60 cycle hum so I rewired it.

I kept the original config, just shortened the wires. Thought the members here would like to see pix.

Here it is, as new, looks clean but notice tie-wraps holding bundles of wire.

After clipping the tie-wraps look at all the excess wire!

Here's it is after the wires were shortened.

Wow. I haven't checked inside my Vintera Jaguar. So satisfying to see someone make the wires nice and neat!

Also notice that I've twisted the wires together. That should help with the hum but I can't prove it.
