NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - Dark Night
Ordered this through Melody Music in Indiana in October and was back ordered with expected shipping expected in late December. I was very pleasantly surprised when it showed up earlier this week. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Congrats on the cool axe and sweet collection!
Such an usual colour, I'm glad to see Fender trying new stuff. Although it's not to my taste, I can see why people would be into it. How are the new V-mods and trem system?

Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - Dark Night
Thanks! I’ve been wanting an American Jazzy for awhile now, and really liked the new mods they introduced with this model. The trem is great, I think. Just a bit more usable play and range in it, but it doesn’t “feel” a lot different than the standard traditional trem. I’m just getting to know what the pickups can do, with these new modifications...the push pull tone knob, and the new rhythm circuit. Need to get some volume going with it to really dig in, but so far I’m pleased with what I’m hearing and think they’re going to work fine. I’ll update this post with more thoughts after I spend more time with them.

I really love this finish, although I think it would look better with a contrasting set of pickup covers or pickguard.

Yep agreed. Some white pickup covers and knobs would provide some contrast and pop.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 1:04 pmI really love this finish, although I think it would look better with a contrasting set of pickup covers or pickguard.

I guess that is the fun part about Fenders...very easy to swap parts. At the moment, I like the stock look of it...but, that can and often does change over time!adamrobertt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 1:04 pmI really love this finish, although I think it would look better with a contrasting set of pickup covers or pickguard.

You have your bases covered very well, my friend!
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Thanks! I limit myself to no more than 10 electrics, all that have a specific purpose for me. So if I get a new one, one has to go! I’m in pretty good shape for what I do. I love the Schecter bass vi. But if fender did a reasonably priced American bass vi, I’d go for that.

I love that finish, but I would definitely swap the guard.
I loved the black appointments at first glance, but with the entire center of the guitar being black with black knobs and pickups, it looks too much like a Charvel or Jackson shredder to me, the more I look at it, and I can't unsee it.
I am sure lots of people love that aesthetic.
Great score, either way.

He definitely doesn't need to worry about diversity of tone! Wonderful collection.

Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - Dark Night
Thanks! Have been playing all weekend, and has been exceeding my expectations. The neck feels just right to me, and the weight balance is really comfortable. The Marr Jaguar that I have is a bit on the heavy side, compared to this. Seems like it will be a very versatile guitar. I’m not one to go too wild with guitar colors, as you can probably tell the photo of my collection there, but I like the somewhat non traditional dark night thing they came up with for this series, though I think I works best on the Jazzmaster!SignoftheDragon wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 7:39 amWas drooling at one of these in a local shop on Friday! Gorgeous guitar. The finish looks so "galactic" to me. Loving the look. So nice to see Fender put out some more unique looking offsets and improving some stuff like the vibrato system .
