I was half expecting to see this guy mentioned:

:)

Really cool as usual...The natural color of mahogany is a perfect complement to a lot of shades of green and blue-green. I've been meaning to build something with a deep German carve, with only the top being painted, a la Walsh guitars. But relic is certainly another way to do it :)

I'm diggin this one for sure!

Relic job does not look that bad imho. The only thing it misses are the paint crack lines you usually associate with this kind of "water damage paint flacking" I remember someone here posted a Fiesta Red Jag or Jm with this kind of flaking. Guitar was in a flood or something and the wood started to rot at the back as well. Due to the swelling of the wood, the paint flacked of the body but also left signicant paint cracks all over the body following the wood grain.

I really like the green tort guard. Wow, that's something else. And yes HNB does it again. I like his builds a lot as they always have the tendency to somewhat unorthodox while still maintain that tasty vibe we all like on offset guitars.

LOL I remember that commercial. Hey kid... here. :)

I did an experiment with the neck... and like all experiments, I learned some things. I learned my vinegar steel wool solution is really strong.... I learned it looks light and then gets dark..... really dark....

I also learned how to blend it and such to make a neck that looks like it was partially burned and has water damage.... LOL

In all honesty, I like it just fine. It is weird, but the body is weird so it fits. I also think the darker color will work with the green better than if the color had ended up really light. Here is the progress in picture form.

Dye and then stain...

To me it has the "pug effect." So much ugly that it kinda works. I think when the cream pickups and knobs are put on and the guitar is all put together that it will be cool. My projects don't always go as I imagine. Sometimes there are twists that make them different, but cool in a different way. I have confidence that this will turn out to be really cool. :)

Yep, that guacamole guard and the murky treatment on the neck look real good.

So, am I correct in taking away that you're gonna have kermit etched into the neck plate? Because that'd be the radness, right there.

Just reminds me of all the dirty, unfinished Van Halen necks that have been posted around the internet lately. I don’t have a problem with that. Honestly.

There is beauty in decay and nothing more natural. Of course, a pickled neck is spot on for a green guitar. :D

It smells like stain mostly. LOL The vinegar mix is like two weeks old so the smell is mostly gone. :) I think the neck and body work well together. :)
