Some of these are nice looking and I've been wanting a semi-hollow/hollow-body with P90s for a while. But, the few places I've looked make it seem like Gibson has left us lefties behind again.
Idk if you saw my post earlier with the 2020 USA Casino but they are issuing those in lefty versions as well! Just a bit steep, $2699.
I did, but I was referring to the less expensive models. Gibson always has the really expensive models available for lefty, but rarely the affordable ones. In the early 2000s, there was an inexpensive Epiphone semi-hollow or two, and now there isn't.

Watched a video of the Crestwood Custom reissue, and noticed they have the proper nylon saddles of the original models.
Cool to see Epiphone trying to make them vintage correct.
Besides the finish, everything else seems to be correct.

On the Crestwood Custom, think now there is a Bigsby type spring on the Tremotone which was not on the original models

that bigsby type spring will help the action of the tremotone immensely. Bring it back in tune easier.

I was just going to say that: good to see they are using an external coil-spring instead of the internal torsion-spring of the originals. The original Tremotones are a bit... temperamental :P

I've been hung up about finding a 330 or Casino for a little while now – what's the consensus on polishing up the "worn" finish on these with Virtuoso or some such to get a less raw finish?

I think that worn-finish is just a thin color-coat on bare wood, meaning it's a rather textured finish (that can't be buffed). Will require clearcoating and buffing that.

Could be. I can say that I once had a 2008 or so Melody Maker, and I thought that maybe I would be able to finish that to a gloss.

But there wasn't any grain filler used, so you could feel the grain of the wood with your fingers. Even if you would have put clear on top of that, you would still have the un-buffed matte finish beneath it.

There wasn't anything to do with it. Nice enough guitar, though. I wouldn't buy one of these with the expectations of finishing it yourself.

Also, I bought an M2 later, which is a double hum bucker update to the Melody Maker. It was finished gloss but insanely thin, the finish started wearing away to the wood within six months of light use.

This is poly, though, so that might not happen here. Regardless, when Gibson puts on a cheap finish, don't count on it being anything more down the road is my advice.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Forgive me, if this was already mentioned, but apparently these new Epiphones all have full size CTS pots and decent pickups, in case anybody was worried about immediately having to fish out the electronics from the f holes to upgrade.

Even though I've no immediate need to buy another guitar I have (and have always had) an unhealthy obsession with those Tremotone units. I don't even know how they feel (are they closer to a Bigsby or a Jazzmaster vibrato) but they look so fucking cool!!
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

The originals feel rather Bigsby-esque but with a really floppy spring.

essentially:

small movement on a strat trem = large trem action on strings
large movement on Epiphone tremotone = small trem action on strings

Does it have less action than a JM unit? I played an Epi with one once, but the owner had removed the arm, so I couldn't try it out.
