NGD traveler acoustic/electric
I've decided to get playing again but my guitars are 500 miles away so I started looking for a "travel guitar" that would work in my limited space on the road... well we aren't traveling due to covid but we are still in about 400sq ft. I found the Traveler guitars and found a few I liked but this version caught my eye & the demos I found sounded pretty good. I stumbled onto a used one at a Guitar Center in Kentucky and dropped some $$. It arrived today but I haven't had the chance to unbox it yet so here's a pic from the Traveler website. Should be fun and with the piezo pickup I can plug it into my new Monoprice tube amp..

Nice. I remember the few I’ve tried being pretty cool.

very interesting.
The "reach-around" string path gives me some ideas.
What wood is it made out of?

Some decent maple. Doesn't weigh much that's for sure.papa_hotel_delta wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 8:41 pmvery interesting.

Are those nylon strings? That’s pretty cool

Re: NGD traveler acoustic/electric
They make this one with nylon or metal strings. Mine is the metal version. I finally got it out, tuned and tried to play.. I can see why the previous owner sold it. The high e string is actually higher than the b string at the bridge so when you strum you hit the e string extra hard. Not a difficult fix but for someone that isn't comfortable working on guitars it would be frustrating. Bad thing is my nut files are 500 miles away so I'll see if the new music store can lower the e string. After that is resolved I'll file the bottom of the bridge and lower the action across all the strings. It sounds good, should be a lot of fun once this is sorted.

Re: NGD traveler acoustic/electric
So, I had the music store install some new strings, clean, & set up the guitar. He couldn't see the problem with the high e string so when I made a trip to the house in the woods 2 weeks ago I grabbed my nut files, a few quick/careful swipes in the bridge groove & it's fixed. I also took about .2" off the bottom of the bridge to lower the action a LOT. It plays MUCH better now. It's not a HIGH quality guitar but it's pretty good, takes up little space and sounds very good plugged in. As I said earlier I can see why the PO sold it but for me it was a pretty easy fix so good deal for me!
