Re: Duplicolor Thread
Here's a Bass VI I finished a while back in Duplicolor Avignon Blue Metallic with yellow-tinted Reranch nitro clear (sold just yesterday via N0_Camping4U!)

That Bass VI is stunning and I really wish you hadn't posted it. Having the same sofa as you makes it too easy to imagine that VI in my life.

Re: Duplicolor Thread
Posting some examples of over a decade of wear on the guitar from my earlier post.
It checked after maybe five years; note how the paint actually bubbled on the back from my sweat. Part of me believes I used a too soft primer (it was not duplicolor) resulting in this, but it’s too long ago to know. 90% sure I also used an off-brand clear that wound up being a bit brittle, so that plus that equals a guitar that looks like it was present at the sitting for the Bayeux Tapestry.
(The new refin is coming along well, layering on the clear when I can.)

Re: Duplicolor Thread
Hey! Thanks again! My roommate and I want to remove the lettering on the back of the headstock. A friend said you can use a micro fiber cloth but I can't see that working...
Anyone know a sure-fire way to get rid of the 'made in indonesia' text? I should perhaps make a topic with more traffic, but thought I'd ask here first.
Also, offer is always there to jam when you have free time on a weekend, dude!

Re: Duplicolor Thread
I use like 2000 grit wet sandpaper on the silk screen stuff and it comes off pretty easily. Even 3000 could work. Unfortunately I often redo the finish because the stuff on the back still shows due to the rest of the wood yellowing a little.

Re: Duplicolor Thread
I've only done a couple so far with just Duplicolor cans, a few more coming very soon. Both of these were sprayed early last year, all but the first pic are recent.
Squier VMJM:
Originally antigua burst. Body & pickguard sprayed with Metalcast anodised green (translucent candy) - hardware & pickup covers sprayed with both Metalcast anodised smoke & green. (Did use a different brand 2k clear that splatted and made sanding a nightmare.) I did not do a burst, that is the original finish showing through.
Snare drum in progress:
Originally silver sparkle wrap. Over that, various partial layers of Metalcast anodised purple & yellow (ie translucent 'candy' colours), no clear coat yet.
Obviously I need to go back to school to find why purple + yellow = red / blood orange.

Re: Duplicolor Thread
Just found these BLUE BABES!!! Did you use an undercoat color to get these Avignon Blues to be so nice? Or are the Duplicolor paints able to get the full color saturation by themselves??? How many coats of blue did you use?
thanks Guys!!

Re: Duplicolor Thread
These are all done with Duplicolor.
Medium Wedgewood Metallic:
One of the Ford metallic charcoal gray variants (though I can't remember which one, exactly):
Dark metallic green (I also can't remember the actual color for this one):
