How the other half lives...

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Wow, just . . . wow.

I've hopped over there a couple times to read up on pickups and it's gotten weird, but like, do they . . . do they not know how to talk about stuff without text-yelling at each other?

It's just guitars, MyLesPaul, and it's not even the one your forum is named after. I've seen Gearslutz of all places be more civil in voicing disagreements.

Also come on they're objectively wrong, it's clearly the Mustang :D

That assumes there are people on them.

All I see are particularly intelligent potatoes.

The shortscale.org gang rejected this Demo I made, in which I obscured the lighting and guitar, so the tones would be the focus. They said it was useless. I guess I should play more like Robroe next time. The particular Mustang was from Shortscale too, and I was the last owner in a chain of about 7 people.
Anyhow, this Japanese Mustang was at the time, the back up for my US SG. My buds always told me use my AVRI JM as backup, but the stang is closer in feel due to 24".
It was strung with 12s and has a Red Lace Sensor in the bridge.

I go through all settings and play mostly original riffs with some genre riffs here and there. A but of wah in there too, but its just straight into a sketchy Blues Deluxe.

Team Mustang!

They managed to slip in a little misogyny there also, in the My Les Paul tradition.

Or did they take down the "Hot Girls" section that they used to have? I don't see it all of a sudden.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

That thread hit every guitar forum cliché in record time. Comparing guitars to women, multiple angles of misogyny, needless hostility derailing the thread, and some great misinformation about Jazzmasters.

Please, someone, rescue that '59 JM from the boomer who derides it for having "banjo tone" and give that thing a proper setup. The thought of someone owning a '59 and hating it is physically painful for me.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

And yes, they did take down the "Les Paul Girls" section. It had been here:

Cancel culture and #metoo ruins everything, don't it, boys?

If you want to really grind their gears, post this video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vMrYSTzqFI8

Make sure to say "Why are we arguing about this guitar, when we could be discussing how this is the single greatest guitar solo, ever performed on an original burst?"

It's Gentle Giant, so it's deliciously subversive to their echo chamber. Retro enough to impress them, but it's prog, and how could you stoop so low?
The song doesn't have a solo on album. It is 100% improvised here and it shits on 90% of their heros. Nobody even knows the guitarist's name. I don't even remember, and I love some GG. Greg?

If you want to create pure havoc, start a thread about how much you admire Greta Thunberg.

Ha, I listen to a lot of 70s prog in high school but never got around to Gentle Giant.
The drummer is really interesting in this song, his look and his beats wouldn't sound dated in the current decade !
Can't say that about the singing, which is what really threw me off many prog groups.
Great song and solo though !
