Re: Jesus Christ I spent $1850 on a guitar, IN THIS ECONOMY?!
Believe it or not, guitars are a hot item in the current economy. So don’t feel bad - you can probably get your cash back out if you decide to move off it before this Autumn.

Are we guessing on a new guitar here or what is going on?
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

It's not an Ibanez, so I reduce my offer to $2385.65 delivered.
Have also made use of the 'report this post' function to attract the Modmins attention and get the topic shifted to the correct subforum.
So...pics?

Not arriving until ~Wednesday, sadly but as soon as it gets here, yeah, I’ll post a bunch.
Unless I’m a total unknown on here, anybody who’s seen my posts in which I talk about my dream guitar would know what it is with only a single deviation from said dream guitar.

I remember you were debating a AV65 Jag vs a custom build with blocks. Is this dream guitar a Jag with an AV65/JM profile and blocks or is there another, dream-ier guitar I'm not recalling?Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 9:46 pmNot arriving until ~Wednesday, sadly but as soon as it gets here, yeah, I’ll post a bunch.

Since you said you don't think you'll get your money back out of it I'm thinking this was someone's partscaster they put together that ticked all your boxes, that would explain the excitement but expected loss on resale.

^ No worries
I'm thinking Fender Japan Jaguar in Lake Placid Blue, possibly with the blocks and binding neck?

There was a nice IBM AV65 Jag up on Reverb recently in about that range—no blocks but otherwise that seems like something you’d be into.

While I'd never ask anyone to falsify the customs declaration, you have no idea how frustrating it is to be in Canada and have probably 95% of the used gear on the market unavailable to you because the majority of sellers in the US simply refuse to ship here. The customs form isn't even a big deal - it's one page and you just put down where it's going, what it is, and what the value is. It costs the seller literally nothing extra as the costs are all on the buyer when it arrives. I've had an easier time finding sellers that will ship from Japan than the USA.

A lot of people find this to be such a daunting task. It is what it is..Powdered Toast Man wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 8:57 am

My only beef with shipping to the US is the high shipping charges. Sellers either back out or think you're ripping them off.
To ship a small pedal I paid around $26 bucks the last time.. So yeah, very unreasonable.

Just have been more clear, I meant to say that since i first started posting here I’ve talked about a specific guitar and my desire to own one and frustrations surrounding how hard it seems to ever be able to happen. I just think I overpaid in terms of being able to make any kind of profit if I ever am to part with it, paying what to me is the absolute most I’d probably ever pay for a guitar of any kind.mbene085 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 9:55 pmI remember you were debating a AV65 Jag vs a custom build with blocks. Dingx3!
Yeah, paid a little more than I wanted, but luckily had some stuff to sell, some of which was to a friend with a clause that I can buy it back if I ever want to buy it back. So it’s not something I feel bad about.
Yeah - my dream guitar would just be a typical LPB 66 Jaguar with THE B&B neck. I ended up with an AV65 in Ice Blue Metallic, and probably only paid a little bit more than I would have had I ordered a custom neck somewhere and gotten an MJT body and all the parts and stuff, which would have been ridiculous because zero chance I’d buy any of that new, but that is kind of beyond my control and would involve a long wait between getting the body and neck and finding all the electronics and hardware for prices I would be able to justify to myself. So brass tacks I’m excited and feel like this was definitely the path of least resistance and yeah I will definitely post pics as soon as it gets here.
