Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
Looks awesome! I love a good Shell Pink. I have a set of those same pickups, they do sound great.

That's a giant upgrade and if it was only 100 pounds for that shell pink finish, it sounds like a great deal. Nice work!

Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
this guitar rules so much.
agreed. i'd do a mastery if budget permitted (though if I were UK staytrem 110%, nothing but happy with mine) it's actually not hard at all, drill out the mute bridge post holes, shim the neck, and raise the mastery up enough to compensate. seems a lot of mastery users have their bridge slow and lowMayTheFuzzBeWithYou wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 3:15 amHaha. Same here! Rrrrooooaaaarrr! That‘s beautiful!Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:48 amYou had me at shell pink LOVE the changes! Congrats on a real looker of a guitar!!!
And a Mastery with a Mute... Haven‘t seen that combo often...

That's so pretty!
Killer, I wonder how it sounds! Don't forget to bend the vibrato arm for that extra pezaz!

Posted a quick little sound sample, neck, both and bridge pickups https://www.dropbox.com/s/pnfy67f0g0gm2 ... s.mp3?dl=0
Going to bend the arm yeah the Mastery vibrato has started creaking a little so I need to strip it off and lubricate it anyway, would be the ideal time

Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
It's quite a fat, C shaped neck. Quite chunky to hold, and with a 9.5" radius fretboard.
For my personal taste, I'm surprised how comfortable it is as I'm usually a fan of the skinnier necks. I would recommend trying one if you're fancying getting one as I know it won't be to everyone's taste

Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
I recently measured my AO Jag at 0.82" at the 1st fret and 0.965" at the 12th fret. It's pretty chunky but one of the most comfortable profiles I have.

Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
Just had a thought, the refin didn't involve fully removing the old finish, sanding, filling etc as it was sprayed on top of the old finish. This must be why it was such a reasonable price

Re: Newly Modified American Original Jaguar
Out of curiosity, how high did you have to set the Mastery (say, pickguard to bottom of the bridge plate) to accommodate the mute?
