Fender Mustang Ben Gibbard signature?

The specs on the Fender website have a typo that really confused me for a minute
It's a 9.5 radius board.

I'm trying to imagine a 5" radius, would it be like playing a pringles can

It's quite strange to chamber the body of a guitar that is already very light weight. I really like the concept of the rotary switch pickup selector.

Ash can get really, really heavy. There's a decreased supply of lightweight swamp ash thanks to the emerald ash borer, so this is probably a way for them to use the heavy hunks of ash that made 1970's Fenders backbreakers, without turning people off with crazy heavy guitars.

You know if Fender actually released a line of guitars with extra light weight being the main intent I'd probably consider buying one of them.

At this stage I'll probably end up grabbing a Pawlonia Jagar body from Guitar Mill and paint it sparkly-purpley-pink-something.

Well it's officially out now. It was announced to retail for €699 which I thought was fair.
Now I see it everywhere for €999 to up to almost €1200.

FWIW I followed one on instagram and the immediately offered it to me for 15% off the asking price ($934 + tax). Tax kills the deal though

It looks like it's a slightly different shade of yellow than the fretboard and even a bit darker than the body. I wonder if it's a "matching headstock"? It definitely doesn't look like it's clear finished like the body does.

Yeah the Sonic Youth Signatures and Mascis and Troy Van Leeuwen have all been really cool but a Belinda Butcher Mustang would be really cool and paid nicely with a Kevin Shields Jazzmaster - do them both in thick metallic red flake and have anodized gold guards ughhhhh that’d be so cool
