Re: Lace Stencil Project Dano Inspired Jazzmaster
Thanks!! I am excited to see it come together. Hoping to do a black guard, black pickups, black strat knobs, Fender tremolo, mastery bridge. I will finish the neck in my usual fashion. Hopefully that helps with the picturing of it until more parts arrive and I can do a mock up.

Here is a mock up of sorts. I have a black aluminum guard coming for it and a mastery tremolo. Black covers, switch, and knobs.

Re: Lace Stencil Project Dano Inspired Jazzmaster
Trial and error. I was marking the holes for the tremolo using masking tape as usual and when I pulled the tape off the Minwax clear pulled off of the color layer....
I used the masking tape and was able to pull the clear off the entire body. I started over with Deft nitro clear which I have used in the past. I have tried to stay away from nitro because it reacts to my stands and stuff, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do... LOL I finished clear and just wetsanded and polished. It looks pretty good. Not perfect, but in spite of all these issues, good.

Oh going to let it cure more before I start adding parts and doing the shielding paint. Nitro takes a good amount of time to cure and I don't want to make any more finish issues. LOL

Still letting it hang for the most part, but got the tremolo, strap buttons, and one thimble on while I worked on shielding paint.

Got the tuners on the neck and the neck mounted. Also got the pickguard mounted. I just need the pickup screws to be ready for strings. The pickups are Sunday Hand Wound Charlie Christian-style Jazzmaster pickups I got from StevenO. Excited to hear them. I did the series switch and no roller pots on this one. One meg pots in the volume and tone spot.

Wow! Looks fantastic! Exellent work.
I really dig this a lot. And the Jazzmaster body really has the right shape for the lace stencil

Re: Lace Stencil Project Dano Inspired Jazzmaster
I found mine by going to the fabric store. They had several patterns and I just picked the one I thought was most interesting.
