I've got it. Michael Franks. Kenny Rankin. The Aquabats. Anything with Dave Weckl.
In general I love all of them but they've gotta count as dorky, right? I mean, I think they're all pretty cool, but at the same time...

Good call on Michael Franks. He's definitely uncool and also pretty great.
This is an excellent rectangle

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the theme went hip-hop'ish when they got Trevor Noah? It's like some white guy thought they needed to make the new black host feel comfortable...maybe Mr. Noah approved it, I don't know.seenoevil II wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 3:48 pmFun fact: TMBG recorded the original Daily Show theme song as written by Bob Mould.

That song is awesome! I didn't realize Hal Blaine had his own outfit. I love this era of zany sounds and ridiculously overused, but super cool effects. Man I gotta deep dive this thread.

Unironically love Huey Lewis and the News. I once went on a long binge watching their official live concerts from the mid-80s and that was a tight stage show. Killer songs too. Definitely not 'cool' though in the way that I think this forum would define it, though.
