thanks for this - the grain is great for capturing general grime.
will try the Simple Green - when I'm allowed into a store again.... (ongoing lockdowns in my state...)
by the way, Simple Green isn't safe for leather I've noticed...
constantly looking for the silver bullet for mildew on leather....
very humid area I live in...

You can try water based graffiti removal. Bought some before at Walmart, don’t know if you have those wherever you live.

Note I have never tried this on car nor guitar case, but it caught my eye in the newsletter I get from Hemmings.
Got me thinking about suitability on the grain of old amps as well.
We have some in The kitchen - might try it very lightly as everyone (naturally) comments on the tendency to leave scratches.
