Re: your effects setup?
I think those are some fancy preamp/buffer type things, but happy to be corrected

Re: your effects setup?
They're input/output buffers/line drivers/sound sculptors. They're made by a company called 29 Pedals. I've always just used a regular (Suhr) buffer, but these are really special units. You don't really notice what they're doing in your rig until you remove them. If you're only using a couple pedals, and not much cabling, then they might not be as night and day in your sound.

Re: your effects setup?
The FX loop idea is cool. Its a good way around buffers ruining fuzz, to have the buffer bypass when its engaged.
More in that i might DIY a buffer in that configuration, in my case though!

Here is some of my set up... Things often change in my home studio, depending on what I am working on.
The most essential key to my effects are the bottles of hotsauce

Boards for experimental, electronicey sounding jams. SkyVerb currently being used mostly as a way of joining the two boards together, until I either make a longer cable or think of something else I can put in the spot above the wah.

Lovely board Braunzo!! How do you like your Icarus? I love the Caroline stuff, but haven't tried an Icarus.

Love the Icarus! It’s the only OD/Preamp I have that won’t choke out with fuzzes ahead of it. It’s dynamic, open, all those fun buzz words. It’s also the only OD that sounds great through all of my amps. It’s really that “pushing your amp” sound. I’m currently using it with a Hi-Tone DG-50.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 3:15 pmLovely board Braunzo!! How do you like your Icarus? I love the Caroline stuff, but haven't tried an Icarus.

Re: your effects setup?
Here's the latest incarnation. After giving some flat Hosa patch cables a try and liking them, my next task is to swap those out for some higher quality EBS ones. I also traded out all my old power supplies for Cioks stuff. I have the DC7 on this board and a couple Cioks4s for other things. I really like them so far. The signal chain is basically:
upper octave -> dirt -> lower octave -> delay -> Lehle switcher (tuner in tuner line out) -> Green Matamp GT120MV & RE-101 Space Echo -> Orange OD120
The round footscitch is to turn the RE-101 on and off. It is only running into the Orange.

Those EBS flats are the business. I've been using them for years and they seem to be indestructible. Oh, and Cioks rules too. The best around these days IMHOi love sharin foo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:05 amHere's the latest incarnation. Re: your effects setup?
I am excited to try them. I just bought my first three last night. I figure that I will buy a few a week for the next month to spread it out a bit. I had been using George L's since the dinosaurs roamed and I got tired of them always needing to be rebuilt. They were pretty bulky by todays standards too.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:16 am

This Cioks stuff is great. At first I was a little put off because of the RCA connectors on the cables but as soon as I decided to fully convert to them it wasn't a big deal. I bought a handful of extra cables for them too. I love being able to switch from voltage between 9/12/15/18. I run all my old ACA Boss stuff on 12, some of my delays are 12, a bunch of 18 stuff, etc. Not needing special cables or charge pumps is great! I don't have any pedals with high current draw, but it's nice to know that if I ever get one, these power supplies can handle it.
