Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
I don't see the price as egregious (it's expensive for sure) given a) the prices of the AO and the Marr and b) the fact that this is a limited edition.
I would buy the red one but I dont think I want to spend that much.
Edit: Sold Out at CME!

So I guess there's nothing in the lineup to replace the AO series?

Not that we know of. Maybe that'll be a winter thing? What with them being behind on production maybe they've decided to stagger the releases?Powdered Toast Man wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:52 pmSo I guess there's nothing in the lineup to replace the AO series?

was getting ready to stretch the budget to pull the trigger on an OTM Vintera, and then today, THIS

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
In a somewhat rash (but timely) decision, I bought an AV65 Jag neck on Reverb a few days ago.
I guess I'll commit to putting together a great partscaster instead.

AO replacements are just a rumor at this point, no? All still listed on the Fender website and GC/MF just had a shipment of Ice Blue Jazzmasters come through.Powdered Toast Man wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:52 pmSo I guess there's nothing in the lineup to replace the AO series?

I don't know exactly why but I viscerally dislike both colors here. Maybe they'd look better with parchment guards.
Or maybe I'm just not a binding & blocks boy as it turns out.

I saw it on the Anderton's website here: https://www.andertons.co.uk/fender-60th ... 0170620825WilburBufferson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 2:43 pmI've looked everywhere and can't find mention of the neck radius. Are you sure? Where did you see that? Link?
The listed specs look specific to this model so unlikely to be a cut and paste error.

Cream City Music's listing said 7.25" as well.

I feel like the tort guards really don’t work on these guitars. Would much rather see parchment. But they also seem just very, idk, bold I guess? Like plain old Crayola crayon red and blue or something. Especially the blue one—I was expecting something called “mystic lake placid blue” to feel softer and more ~mysterious~

I really don't understand the finish choices either; it's like they took CAR and LPB and made them worse.ryanthellama wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:14 pmI feel like the tort guards really don’t work on these guitars. That they're vintage spec necks is even more baffling to have picked strange modernised colours; imagine if these were block and binding, vintage spec in genuine late 60s custom colours, e.g. Firemist Silver, Charcoal Frost, Teal Green, etc.

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
(I accidentally posted these in the Squier 40th Anniversary Jazzmaster thread)
Big pix of the new Squier FSR Classic Vibe 60's Jaguars. Seem to only be on UK/EU sites.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

See? Now any of THOSE in the 60th Anniversary/Made in America/nitro guise and you've got me on the hook.

Long & McQuade (Canada's answer to Guitar Center) has the AO JM listed as "no longer available" meaning it's not backordered, its discontinued.wooderson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 2:37 pmAO replacements are just a rumor at this point, no?
